Blankenese Conference 2026
Tissue-immune interactions in inflammatory diseases
Welcome to the 43rd Blankenese Conference 2026 "Tissue-immune interactions in inflammatory diseases" taking place May 31st – June 3rd, 2026 at the Elsa Brändström Haus in Hamburg, Germany.
About the Conference
Tissue-immune interactions are central to maintaining health and shaping the body’s response to infection, injury and sterile or chronic inflammation. Tissues constantly engage in active immune surveillance, sensing environmental cues and orchestrating tailored protective mechanisms. When these interactions become dysregulated, they drive immunopathology and contribute to a wide spectrum of immune-mediated inflammatory diseases. Understanding how organs communicate with and instruct immune cells, how tissues resist or amplify inflammatory stress, and how regulatory networks maintain balance is essential for uncovering the principles that govern emergence and chronicity of inflammatory diseases.
The conference will bring together leading experts exploring tissue-immune crosstalk across diverse organs and disease contexts, offering an interdisciplinary view of the field. Early-career researchers are invited to share their work in poster sessions, with selected abstracts featured in short oral presentations.
