Mechanical forces influence virtually all biological processes, and dysregulation of mechanotransduction contributes to numerous diseases, including cardiovascular disorders, chronic pain, musculoskeletal diseases, developmental abnormalities, fibrosis, and cancer. Accordingly, mechanobiology has emerged as a central discipline in modern life sciences, revealing how mechanical forces regulate cellular behavior, tissue homeostasis, development, regeneration, and disease. Despite remarkable progress, many mechanobiological phenomena are still investigated within distinct disciplinary communities, limiting the exchange of concepts and technological advances across fields.

The Blankenese Conference 2027 will bring together leading international researchers working on diverse aspects of mechanobiology to facilitate scientific exchange across traditional disciplinary boundaries. By integrating experts studying molecular mechanisms of mechanotransduction with researchers investigating physiological and pathological processes in different organ systems, the conference aims to identify common principles governing force sensing and force-dependent signaling across biological scales. Early-career researchers are invited to share their work in poster sessions, with selected abstracts featured in short oral presentations.
